J4C Empowering the Next Generation is dedicated to identifying communities affected by youth violence and building effective networks that create meaningful change for young people. We have identified a strong link between school exclusions and gang involvement, and we aim to work proactively with both primary and secondary students to address this early on. Our approach includes training teachers to better manage challenging behaviour in the classroom and supporting parents, particularly those with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
By positioning ourselves as key contributors in tackling local issues, we offer expert advice, deliver targeted training, and draw upon our existing knowledge and experience. This enables us to identify gaps in services and help organisations make more effective use of their resources. Our work contributes to reducing gang, gun, and knife-related fatalities and serious injuries, while also supporting individuals involved in such activities to transform their lives. Through direct engagement and referral to relevant partners, we provide pathways for those seeking change to access the help they need for a safer, more positive future
